First Friday Day of Recollection

SAN JUAN BAUTISTA – On Friday, 6 May 2022, Fr Paul Botenhagen, OFM, will lead a Day of Recollection entitled Encounter with God: The Sacramental Experience – Penance from 9:30am until 2pm at the Saint Francis Retreat Center, 549 Mission Vineyard Road.

Born in San Francisco, Fr Paul Botenhagen, OFM, entered the Franciscan Order in 1971. He attended Arizona State University and received his undergraduate degree in Secondary Education. He taught at St Mary’s High School in Phoenix for five years. He received his MDiv degree from the Franciscan School of Theology in Berkley. He was ordained on 11 September 1982 by the Most Rev. Thaddeus A. Shubsda, 2nd Bishop of Monterey in California. He was eventually assigned among the Apache People in Mescalero, New Mexico for a combination of twelve years. This year, Fr Paul celebrates his 50th Anniversary as a Franciscan.

The Day of Recollection begins at 9:30an with gathering and greeting, followed by the first session beginning at 10am. Mass will be celebrated at 11am, followed by lunch at 12pm. The second session begins at 1pm and concludes at 2pm.

This Day of Recollection is free, though donations are suggested.
